New Feature Added For Simphony v2
I have added this new feature to the Gallery. (This is where the first shock is going to hit you. Hold on to your socks folks, or your pant's if you wish. This might actually hit you faster than the smell of chocolate from your hidden stash.)
The Gallery was a place for your portfolio's, which you all know. Here's the real kicker, it worked, but badly. I hated the amount of boards in there from the time I had created them, until now. (that was the first shock)
(Here comes the big granny of shocks, and granny Sorrow is a pain to live with. She steals my milk, now no milk = no coffee and no coffee = evil sorrow.)
Get to the point sorrow alright, sheesh im getting there.
The shocker is I hate that many boards, I can't live with them anymore. I'm going to delete them Oh your going to delete...Are you out of your tiny mind, do you realise my work Yeah, I do.
Now before you all pick up the garden tools, and light torches and try to hunt me down like an angry mob, Let me either explain or give me a head start.
Yes I'm going to delete them, but I have a new system in place to replace the portfoilo's and this works better. Everyone can create threads in the gallery board, this stops the feeling of isolation. It also encourages members and staff to connect and post there galleries. Which is easier to give and recieve feedback.
How is this a new system?
Well, for the more savvy users i only have to say two words Light and the second word Box.
For the less savy members - I have implemented a way for you to have thumbnails into your post within the Gallery. You can add captions and choose a size for your thumbnails. The when a person clicks on your thumbnail. the original size of the image is loaded in a new lightbox facility. At the moment its, not Jquery but I might change that. If loading times are giving problems.
Anyway, the light box has previous and next controls.
Creating Your Gallery?
You can see this function in the image below, this next part is important.
now Im going to explain how to use it. You all have managed to post images on the forum. Well the gallery lightbox works a little like that.
GreyArrow - you have to type the url of the image, the link you normally post into the qoute box, has to go into the url bar.
Purple Arrow - this is the image button, once you have posted the url into the url bar, and picked your thumbnail size and captions, you press this and your done.
Note: To post reply to a gallery. You will have to use Reply, and NOT QUICK REPLY.....quick reply isn't working, this is a known problem, I'm working on it
